Hastings-Western Port Historical Society has launched its new book, Hastings – People and Places, vol. III.
A beautifully illustrated 136 page book, Hastings – People and Places, vol. III features stories and historical accounts of community groups, buildings, industry, ferries, schools, and sports clubs to name just a few. Highlights include stories on such notable local figures as Janice Danaher, OAM; David “Roy” Greive; Eunice Mathews; Dr Arthur Haywood and Arthur Woodley.
As Edwin Mawson explains in his foreword, “This book helps to revive memories and enlighten those who were not there at the time.”
Edited by Shirley Davies, Beryl Stockton and Rita Cooper from the Hastings-Western Port Historical Society, Hastings – People and Places is available in both hardback and paperback and can be purchased through the Society or Hastings Newsagency. The hardback retails for $55 and the paperback is available for $30.
